Miss Tennessee Leaving For Miss America Contest

Reported by Will Carr

Friends and family are bidding farewell and good luck to Miss Tennessee. Chattanooga native Blair Pancake is leaving soon to compete in the Miss America Contest.

Pancake says she's prepared her whole life for the contest. And even though the big night is still more than two weeks away, she says she can't wait to get on stage.

"It's a pretty incredible feeling you know...like a whole dream come true. I don't think it's actually hit me yet. People are like are you nervous yet and I'm like no not yet," Blair Pancake says.

Blair Pancake, the current Miss Tennessee, is ready to compete to become Miss America. Pancake leaves Friday and says she's going for one reason - to win.

"I feel really good about my chances and really confident with what I'm doing and we'll see where the cards lie," Pancake says.

Tonight friends and family are giving pancake a farewell party.

"So we're just here to support her and let her know that we believe in her and we're excited about what is going to happen to her in Vegas," Pancake says.

And five and a half year old Grace Brody wants her friend to bring home the crown.

"Cause she's really nice and sweet," Brody says.
