Brazilian police fear that a former Miss World contestant may have been kidnapped after going missing in London more than three months ago.
Taiza Thomsen, who was Miss Brazil in 2002, was last heard of in September and she has stopped withdrawing money her father paid into her bank account.
Brazilian police have now alerted Interpol and are contacting British authorities to try to confirm whether Ms Thomsen, 24, was living in England. “We can’t rule out anything, not even the possibility she was a victim of human trafficking,” Marcos David Salem, the officer leading the investigation, said.
Yesterday Ms Thomsen’s parents appealed for information about their daughter’s whereabouts. “We can’t take it any more,” said Antonio Thomsen. “It is too sad.”
