She may not have been given the first rose on ABC-TV's "The Bachelor" on Monday night, but Blue Island native Nicole "Nikki" Kaapke definitely made a impression.
On Monday night's show, bachelor Jason Mesnick told show host Chris Harrison that he trusted Kaapke and saw her as mature and ready to be in a serious relationship with him.
She received the second rose handed out by Mesnick during Monday's elimination ceremony.
Kaapke is competing to capture Mesnick's heart on the nationally-televised reality show and has residents, including Tracy Johnson, eagerly setting their digital video recorder to glimpse their hometown bachelorette.
