Miss America Entrants Get Lost in Vegas

Three buses carrying this year’s 52 Miss America contestants got lost during the women’s first night in Las Vegas, entrants say.

Miss Washington Kate Marie Grinold said the buses accidentally took the pageant contestants to the wrong Buca di Beppo restaurant location Saturday night, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Sunday.

“We got to see a lot of lights,” Grinold said, attempting to find a bright spot in being temporarily lost.

The directional miscue was not the first time Miss America contestants got turned around. Miss Nevada Julianna Erdesz recalled last September when the contestants got lost on their way to the RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif.

“We got lost on our way back from the zoo to the Queen Mary,” Erdesz told the Review-Journal.

“We were lost for 90 minutes. Miss Oklahoma and I were on our iPhones giving directions to the bus driver on the GPS (Global Positioning System).”  (UPI.com)
