sharon@missamerica.org Miss America Contestants Gather in Front of Planet Hollywood to Celebrate a Historical Event  Our 2009 Miss America contestants gathered together this morning to witness the swearing in ceremony of our new Commander-in- Chief, President Barack Obama, on the jumbo screens outside of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
The contestants watched the Inauguration of America's 44th President and joined all of America in the celebration of this historical event.
Contestants took a break out of their busy rehearsal schedule for the 2009 Miss America Competition to watch this event. And our own Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund was in Washington, D.C. to be a part of the festivities that include riding on the USO Float in the Official Inaugural parade and also performing tonight at the USO's Heroes Red, White & Blue Inaugural Ball and the Commander-In-Chief's Inaugural Ball where President Obama is expected to stop by. |
