Contestants hoped to raise awareness about IHOP's National Pancake Day celebration, a nationwide fundraising effort that aims to raise $1 million for Children's Miracle Network programs at children's hospitals and other local charities throughout the United States. IHOP's fourth National Pancake Day celebration benefiting Children's Miracle Network is set to take place February 24, 2009, when nearly 1,400 IHOP restaurants nationwide will offer guests a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Children's Miracle Network and other local charities. With a goal to raise more than $1 million, funds will benefit children's hospitals throughout the U.S. Later That Evening Contestants Received a Relaxing Break at The Venetian With the title of Miss America 2009 on the line, all 52 contestants took time out of their busy schedules to relax and enjoy a special performance by the enchanting entertainment experience, The Living Garden. The contestants were mesmerized by the elegant transformation from statue to living fountain in this unique performance that takes place at The Palazzo waterfall inside the atrium area. Following the awe inspiring attraction, the contestants floated down the Grand Canal at The Venetian in an authentic gondola ride as they were serenaded by singing gondoliers.
