LAS VEGAS – Jamie Wilson is on her way home from her bid for the Miss America crown. After nearly two weeks of Miss America events, rehearsals and preliminary competitions, the former Miss Minden can fully resume her duties as Miss Louisiana.

Next month, she will serve as mistress of ceremonies at the Miss Minden pageant – a tradition she had been looking forward to.

Throughout the week, Wilson had staunch support from her hometown with approximately 150 from Minden attending preliminaries Thursday, Friday and Saturday and final night competition Monday.

“It’s pretty incredible to have that kind of support – all of the cards, flowers and well-wishes. It’s hard to not have individual time with everybody – it’s nearly impossible with the amount of time we’re given,” Wilson said. “I couldn’t be more grateful. That is the one thing that is amazing – the amount of support I have and from the people who are not here. The group has been fantastic.”"
