Burlington woman made it to final 15 at Miss USA pageant

Burlington - Among the 15 semifinalists in the 56th annual Miss USA pageant held March 23 in Los Angeles was Miss Wisconsin-USA, Caitlin Shea Morrall, 23, of Burlington.

Morrall is the first Wisconsin entrant to place among the Miss USA semifinalists since Kathryn Joy Wituschek of Milwaukee in 1979, according to officials of the event.

Morrall, who won her state title Sept. 2 in Richland Center, is an education major at Alverno College in Milwaukee. Before her victory, she served as Miss Racine in 2002, Miss Milwaukee in 2003 and Miss Burlington Area in 2006 and competed in the Miss Wisconsin America pageant in Oshkosh four times. She is the first from Burlington to win the state crown and the first from Racine County since Kimberly Jean Totdahl of Racine won in 1991.

Winning the 2007 Miss USA crown was Rachel Renee Smith, 21, of Clarksville, Tenn., who will compete in the 2007 Miss Universe pageant May 28 in Mexico City, Mexico.
