Rachel Smith spent weeks choosing evening gowns, casual clothes, and dozens of pairs of shoes to take with her to Los Angeles, Calif., where she will compete in the Miss USA pageant Friday.
But Smith says the plans for this moment in her life began long ago, years before she was crowned Miss Tennessee USA.
