Crowning The Springfield Marquis Queen of Queens

Each year in part of a long standing tradition, the Portland Rose Festival crowns a Queen of Queens in as a member of the ruling Court of the mystical realm of Rosaria.  The queen is chosen at the annual Queen's Tea in May.

Senior queens from across the state earn a trip to represent their city at the tea in special coronations held throughout Oregon.  As a preliminary to the big event, it was my privilege to crown Ilabelle Oden as the Marquis Springfield Queen (looking beautiful in her red satin blouse, matching skirt and queenly pearls picked just for the occasion).
Thank you Marquis Springfield and Activity Director Bruni Patterson for inviting me to crown your new queen, and for the lovely bouquet of red roses!  It was truly an honor to share in this experience, and I look forward to attending the big finale` on May 16.
