Dominican belle is a hit in Poland’s Miss World preps

WARSAW, (Special for Dominican Today).- For one week the most beautiful women in the globe are gathering in the capital of Poland, for one of beautydom’s grand events, the Miss World Pageant.

Among the world’s belles is Miss Dominican Republic Paola Torres Cohén, who so far has shown the talent necessary to go the all the way in all contests leading to the Miss World 2006 finale on September 30.

Now, more than 100 contestants are taking a part in a various events in main cities of Poland, as the Caribbean group (which Paola belongs to) arrived in the resort Gdynia, on the Baltic Sea’s Riviera.

Paola was a hit with the local press during one of the welcoming ceremonies’ highlights, a visit which included filming on the world famous schooner Dar Pomorza, in Gdynia harbor.

All Miss World 2006 candidates still have almost 3 weeks to flaunt their charms, in which Paola is expected to excel on the way to the finale.

The only Dominican woman to win the Miss World Pageant was Mariasela Alvarez, who took the crown in the contest held in London in 1982, and one year later visited Poland as special guest in Warsaw.
