CANCUN, Mexico--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cancun’s glistening turquoise waters, white sandy shores, luxurious spas and upscale shopping plazas name just a few of the hotspots that will be broadcast worldwide from this year’s 56th Annual Miss Universe® Competition. 77 of the glamorous titleholders are visiting Cancun and its nearby attractions exclusively to film scenes for the program, including video portions of the swimsuit competition.
“We are honored to host such wonderful representatives of countries from around the world,” states Arturo Escaip Manzur, CEO of the Cancun Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Beautiful women should always be seen in beautiful settings, and what could be more spectacular than the turquoise waters of Cancun?”
So far, the contestants have visited the Hard Rock Cafe, the beaches of the Gran Melia hotel, as well as the La Isla Shopping Village for a Mother’s Day meet and greet. The girls will also join the Governor of Quintana Roo, Felix Gonzalez Canto, for a special “Welcome” dinner.
Filming will take place in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya and Cozumel through Monday, May 14, 2007. NBC Television will air the program live from Mexico City on May 28, 2007.
