Teen heads to national pageant

At times the princess has been known to slouch.

The princess in question could be any small town Southeast Texas teenage girl of a certain fresh exuberance and natural beauty. But this princess is Jenna Simmons, 18, of Nederland, who was crowned National American Miss Texas Teen on June 26 in Houston, competing against 141 other girls.

One of two Miss Texas Teen queens (one south and one north), Jenna will travel to Disneyland in Anahein, Calif., the week of Thanksgiving to compete in the national pageant.
