MANSFIELD, Ohio (AP) -- Here she is ... Miss Ohio.
Melanie Murphy, a dancer for the Cleveland Cavaliers, has been crowned Miss Ohio 2006 and will represent the state in the Miss America pageant.
She won the honor Saturday night in Mansfield, competing as Miss Miami Valley with the platform of promoting volunteerism.
Murphy is 20 years old and from Brook Park.
She receives $1,100 in scholarships to help
her as she studies journalism and promotional communications at Cleveland State University.
The first runner-up was 18-year-old Becky Minger of Sylvania, who competed as Miss Greater Dayton.
