FREDERICKSBURG - Stafford County's Miss Virginia Galaxy stopped by Dog Krazy on June 26 to help kick off the inaugural Puppy Pizza Party.
Pageant winner Julie Brown was at the Friends Fur Life Pet Sanctuary benefit to help support unwanted and homeless animals.
The 2007 University of Mary Washington graduate is a local native who attended Ferry Farm Elementary School, Gayle Middle School and Stafford High School. She earned her bachelor of science degree in Business Administration.
She will compete in Orlando, Fla. from July 18 through 22 for the title of Miss Galaxy.
"There will be a couple of girls there from other countries," she said. "It should be a lot of fun."
