CARTERVILLE- The 2007 Miss Illinois is a familiar face to some folks in the southern part of the state.Ashley Hatfield of Anna beat out 21 other contestants to take the crown.
The newly crowned Hatfield says she's excited to travel the state and talk to students in Illinois schools. In January, she'll represent Illinois in the Miss America pageant in Las Vegas.
Earlier this week Hatfield enjoyed a homecoming with her supporters at a party in Makanda. She says she is happy to be back in Southern Illinois.
