Guwahati, April 1: What do Bipasha Basu, Celina Jaitley and Koena Mitra have in common? These Bollywood beauties have been Sananda Tilottamas, the title bestowed on winners of eastern India’s biggest and most prestigious beauty pageant.
Come April 6, a bevy of wannabe Bipashas, Celinas and Koenas from across the Northeast will strut their stuff at the preliminary round of the Dabur Gulabari Sananda Tilottama 2007 at Hotel Centrepoint in Shillong.
The contest is being held in association with Ever Yuth and Seagrams Blenders Magical Nights.
The preliminary round has moved to the Meghalaya capital after a very successful Guwahati round last year.
The contest is, however, not a “new thing” for the beautiful and stylish Meghalaya girls. Last year’s finals saw the pretty Delphine Marbaniang wow the crowd with her grace and poise and walk away with the Miss Beautiful Skin and Miss Beautiful Smile titles, along with the special title of Akashottoma, awarded by the TV channel Akash Bangla.
In fact, Northeast beauties have already made their mark in the contest with Priyanka Laurembaum from Manipur adjudged the first runner-up last year.
Apart from Priyanka and Delphine, last year’s contest saw Zodiki Darkin from Mizoram win the titles of Miss Perfect 10, Miss Confidence, Miss Personality, Miss Talented and the swimsuit round. Her sister Rochelle Zochuani Darkin bagged the Miss Beautiful Hair title.
Sananda Tilottama is continuing its quest to discover the best talents of this region.
This year, too, Dabur Gulabari Sananda Tilottama will have the 20 most glamorous girls in the finals after the preliminary rounds in Shillong, Jamshedpur and Calcutta.
Besides the crown, the contest will also see the beauties vie for titles such as Miss Beautiful Eyes, Vatika Shampoo Miss Beautiful Hair and VLCC Miss Perfect 10.
