Local teen aims to be Miss Teen Texas International

Candace Megan Craver dreams of being Miss America someday, but for now the 17-year-old Panola College student has her sights set on vying in the Miss Teen International Pageant, hosted in San Antonio on March 22.

"I just never thought I would get this opportunity. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity," said Miss Craver, who was recently named Miss Teen Harrison County International 2009 by the executive committee of the 2009 Miss Teen Texas International Pageant.

As Miss Teen Harrison County, she will represent the greater Harrison County area at the 2009 Miss Teen Texas International Pageant in San Antonio. She will be competing for more than $15,000 in cash and prizes and the chance to advance to the Miss Teen International Competition in July. In addition to contesting for the state crown, the young pageant queen will also be available to make appearances, attend special presentations and assist with civic and non-profit oriented projects throughout the year.
