Treating Yourself Like Royalty
PK cover

Peggy Kline, a national motivational speaker, nutures the needs of women through humor and hope.

Treating Yourself Like Royalty delivers an important proclamation to every woman; to be kinder and gentler to herself and embrace her true magnificence. In this crown jewel of a book, author Peggy Kline gives her readers the royal treatment on every page!

QFAD is grateful for Peggy's mention of us in her book, along with the story of founder Jenna Edwards. Peggy is donating a portion of the proceeds to QFAD and is offering the book to local chapters to sell as a fund raising tool as well.

Visit www.peggykline.com for more information on Peggy and www.motheringmoms.com for creative ways to treat mom for Mother's Day.

Marla and boy

Marla Hayes joined Queen for a Day in late 2007 with lots of big ideas. She has already begun implementing her gusto for life in her new chapter!

Diagnosed with MS a few years ago, Marla won the TrimSpa Challenge and is featured on the home page of TrimSpa's website. She is active in pageantry, competing in the Beauties of America competition.

Click here to read about Marla's extraordinary events where attendees are treated to full spa services, haircuts, and even shaves!
Ways to Help

Here you can find suggestions on how to help Queen for a Day continue its mission of uplifting children with cancer. No matter how large or small your resources may be, there's a place for you!
Detroit's After-hours Program

Called the Royal Tuck In, volunteers will visit the hospital in the evening to read a bedtime story to a child in their room. The children will each get the story book and a teddy bear. The chapter is searching for sponsors to cover the cost of books and bears. So far, the hospitals have said they love the idea and the details are in the works.

Dena Raminick will be chairing the program and it will give the volunteers that work regular business hours a chance to be more involved. Although only in testing stages, all parties involved are already excited about the program.
