Miss Peru, Silvia Cornejo, bested 111 beauties around the world in winning the 2008 Miss Tourism Queen International. Silvia is the first woman from the American continent to win the title.
The 1st runner-up was the hometown girl, Miss China, Tong He; Miss Canada, Sahar Biniaz, was the 2nd runner-up; Miss Montenegro, Dasa Zivkovic, was the third runner-up; and finally, Miss Japan, Akemi Fukumura, was the 4th runner-up.
