6-10-07 - PRATT, Kan. (AP) -- The new Miss Kansas is University of Kansas student Alyssa George. The 21-year-old business major was crowned last night in Pratt.
She had competed as Miss Sedgwick County. George is from Minneapolis, Kansas. She goes on to compete in the Miss America pageant.
Miss Kansas first runner-up was Lindsay Hoover. The 24-year-oldis from Anthony and was competing as Miss Wooded Hills. Second runner-up was Alexandra Miller. The 17-year-old from Derby competed as Miss Topeka.
