GALLUP — Miss America 2006 Jennifer Berry will be in Ganado at 10 a.m. Friday to talk with high school students about the dangers of underage drinking and drunk driving.

"With Mothers Against Drunk Driving as my platform partner, I will take every opportunity to raise awareness and educate the public about the dangers and consequences of drunk driving and underage drinking," Berry stated in a press release.

After being crowned Miss America in January, Berry became a MADD national spokesperson in March, and began promoting her platform of "Building Intolerance to Drunk Driving and Underage Drinking."

Berry's visit is being coordinated by First Lady Vikki Shirley, who has spearheaded the formation of the Navajo Nation MADD Chapter and serves as chairwoman of the Navajo Nation MADD-DUI Task Force
