Michelle Banzer is the newest Miss Kentucky USA.
Banzer, who is half-Asian, is also the first minority ever to receive the crown.
Her parents, Louisville residents Anh Kim Luong and James Banzer, couldn't be prouder.
"Although I never thought of her as necessarily becoming a beauty queen, I always thought she was a beautiful baby," said Michelle's proud papa.
Michelle, who turns 24 today, will compete in the Miss USA pageant this spring. Kentuckian Tara Conner holds the current title.
