IT'S the greatest fear among Adelaide's clutch of Miss Universe finalists - a "Jennifer Hawkins moment".
Model and designer Eliza Joy, 25, trampled the hem of her self-designed frock while posing yesterday with SA's three other pageant beauties, barely avoiding a wardrobe malfunction. (Former Miss Universe Hawkins once lost her skirt in a parade).
"Aah, my dress," Eliza cried, before safely dislodging her stiletto from her hem.
She was last night putting the finishing touches to her eye-catching lolly-pink gown before catching the 6.45am flight today for Melbourne.
The quartet - among 20 finalists vying for the Miss Universe Australia crown - has a packed schedule of appearances and rehearsals, before the crowning ceremony at Melbourne's Eden On The Park hotel tomorrow night.
Media student Michelle Trewartha, 22, has a turquoise gown by local designer Lena Lekkas for the "evening" section of the parade. Gym worker Susie Collins, 19, has a yellow frock from Malvern label Alexis George, and accountant Vanessa Bockmann, 20, has a red number from city boutique Proposals. The winner represents the nation in the U.S.
