After months of preparation and hard work, 11 women stand on stage waiting anxiously for the results of the 2007 Miss OSU Scholarship Pageant. Each hopes that she will become the next Miss OSU. At the end of the night, only one contestant can walk away with the crown.
The winner of the pageant qualifies to compete in the Miss Oklahoma Pageant in June. If she wins the Miss Oklahoma title, she will then go on to the Miss America Pageant. This is an opportunity to not only win scholarship money but also gain experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.
Growing up in Texarkana, Ark., Margaret Edwards, a nutritional sciences junior, never imagined she would be a contestant.
“I never thought I would be competing in Miss Oklahoma, but I’m excited about it,” Edwards said. “It’s wonderful to be able to represent Oklahoma State University in this way.”
