O'Kelley told judges she wants to be a television broadcaster.
O'Kelley also won Miss North Carolina Teen USA in 2001. She is just the second North Carolina contestant ever to win both the state's Teen USA title and then go on to win the Miss North Carolina USA title later in her life. The other was Chelsea Cooley who won Miss North Carolina USA last year. She went on to win Miss USA and placed in the top ten at Miss Universe.
Like Cooley, O'Kelley will now go on to the Miss USA competition and will be offered college scholarships.
Jessica Floyd of Dallas was named first runner-up, Jessica Lowman of Sherrills Ford was second runner-up, third runner-up was Ashley Jordan of Elizabeth City, and fourth runner-up was Carmen Spivey of Kernersville.
