Brilliant Baraboo

Babes in Toyland, a giant rocking horse, Santa's elves with their reindeer, snow fairies and other icons of the season brought excitement to children and adults alike during the annual Holly Jolly Light Parade on the Courthouse Square in Baraboo Saturday.

. . .

Bob and Sharon Madland of Baraboo acted as grand marshals of the parade.

Portage resident Danni Hogan, 11, said he really liked the acrobatic displays in the parade, like clowns on stilts.

"I loved the giant wheel," said his uncle, Rorie Reichhoff of Baraboo.

Among the parade participants was Miss Wisconsin 2006, Meghan Coffey. She began her visit to Baraboo signing autographs at Specially Hers and said she had already been to one parade Saturday.

"I'm just beginning to get the holiday spirit," Coffey said. "I'm excited to make my first visit to Baraboo for the parade." She will compete in the Miss America Pageant in January.

Milwaukee residents Pilar Moller and Alissa Leischer-Rizzo were getting autographs, but said they were surprised to find Coffey in town. They came to the parade last year and decided to come back.
