Miss Michigan Crowned Miss America and Gets Swagged!

Last night, a newer, hipper Miss America pageant crowned 19-year-old Kirsten Haglund Miss America. For the show's 87th year, the event tried to shed its tame image and shook it up a bit with a more provacative swimsuit competition and trendier, less costumey, opening parade of states number. There were edgier, more topical questions posed to the contestants and a DJ spun on stage. I'm all about out with the old and in with the new, but not sure what I thought of the updated version. Time will tell.

Yet one thing holds true in that girls will be girls, and the ladies of the Miss America scholarship pageant got to enjoy some fantastic products that these women will definitely love, courtesy of Wow! Creations who hosted the official Tiko Soy Lifestyle Gift Lounge at the Planet Hollywood Hotel in Las Vegas.

Tikosoy_candles Tiko Soy was the presenting sponsor of the gift lounge and showcased its products, which include hand-poured soy candles and line of body scrubs, bath salts, lip balms and more. What I like most about Tiko Soy is the products' unique scents. The Vanilla Chocolate body scrub is to die for and the floral Lothlórien soy candle, sigh!

SpanxA product I can't live without are Spanx. If you've been living under a rock and haven't heard of Spanx, either from Oprah or reading any fashion mag, then I'm sorry since these are amazing body-shaping undergarments that beauty pageant and non-beauty pageant people like me can wear to make us look like beauty pageant contestants. These body-enhancers come in hosiery and tights, bras, maternity and other slimming apparel. I like the footless tights the best.

Sheer_miracle_mineral_makeupI wear mineral makeup, but it's always so expensive and I can never find the right shade. Yet I'm excited to learn of Sheer Miracle which is a line of mineral makeup featured at the Miss America pageant that not only has the same ingredients as all the big name brands, but is affordable. The company is also committed to its all-natural ingredients so you don't have to worry about putting chemicals on your face.I'm very excited to try this!

Hawaiian_tropicWhat's the most iconic name in tans? Hawaiian Tropic of course. Everyone wants that perfect Hawaiian Tropic glow, and now the company has a slew of products from its sun protection lotions to its sunless tanning creams. Hawaiian Tropic also has its Island Glow moisturizers that let you gradually tan while nourishing your skin.

Fostergrantsunglasses After you've gotten your glow on, you need to accessorize and Foster Grant sunglasses and a Sonya Paz watch are next on your list. Foster Grant sunglasses are consistently picked by fashionistas as the celebrity look for less brand. Foster Grant has been innovating sunglass design since it's inception in Altantic City in 1919 and the stars couldn't get Sonya_paz_watchesenough of them in the 60s, and then Elvis in the 70s. And now today is still recognized as a top choice from Women's Wear Daily and People mag. And Sonya Paz, a pop artist extraordinaire, has created wearable art in the form of her wrist watches.

PrensusSupersmileHaving a great smile at a pageant is a must, so Supersmile was a natural fit for the Miss America gifting lounge. Supersmile is a teeth whitening system created by a visionary aesthetic dentist, Dr. Smigel, who has long been at the forefront of every development in dentistry. He created this safe system of toothpastes, accelerators, whitening floss and even gum to give you the whitest teeth on whatever stage you're walking down. I keep the Supersmile Quickee in my purse. Love it. Oh, and I need to try as do you, the Prensus adjustable purse hanger that was also featured at the Miss America lounge. I have to keep my valuables off the floor and the Prensus is the little invention made exclusively for that,

AlagioprofessionalhaircarHair, skin and nails are next on the list with a bunch of cool products to keep the pageant ladies, and you, feeling and looking great. First you need to try Alagio Haircare products. In Style rated its Silk Adoraskincare Obsession and Crazy Curl lines as the "most wanted" hair care producst. How can you not try those now? Get your body smooth and refreshed with Adora Skincare. Adora makes bath salts and salt scrubs that exfoliate and moisturize with salts extracting exclusively from an avaporated salt lake bed in northern Chile. The salt from here is beyond pure making it free of pollutants and Nailartdiva best for your skin. And after all this pampering it's time to finish off your perfectly tanned, smooth and accessorized body with some unique salon style nail art with Nail Art Diva. You can create your own look with this kit. Easy to use and no need to go to an expensive salon when you can do it yourself.

Smiths_rosebud_salveHer_energy_drinkKeep your lips smooth, and keep this multi-purpose salve, handy for almost any skin irritation with Rosebud Salve. It's a Hollywood secret, but you can use this not only on your lips, but your elbows and even your baby's bum! But try not to rinse it off when you sample some Her Energy Drink. Made especially for women, this is pleasantly surprising light and refreshing pink lemonade flavor caffeine-infused drink. There is also a sugar-free version.

Dr_jeannette_graff_md_stop_aging_anAnd to keep up with the frenetic lifestyle of a Miss America winner, we ladies should all try to read up on how to live and not age with Dr. Jeannette Graff's "Stop Aging and Start Living" book that gives a non-nonsense look at how simple ways of eating and enjoying life can keep those lines from invading your face, in just 2-weeks.

We can't wait to see what updates and swag Miss America has in store for us next year for its 88th anniversary!
