Lunch with Miss America 2006

Here’s your chance to have lunch with Jennifer Berry, the 2006 Miss America! Communities In Schools, Inc., the nation’s largest stay in school network, is pleased to announce that Jennifer Berry, the 2006 Miss America, will participate in the 2008 Communities In Schools Lunch With A Leader online celebrity auction.

Berry, along with dozens of other celebrities from entertainment, sports, business, and journalism are donating an hour of their time for lunch that will be auctioned off to the highest bidder on eBay from February 8-18, 2008. Lunch With A Leader provides a unique opportunity to personally connect with people who are leaders in their fields.

“Jennifer Berry is a major advocate for kids, and we are honored that she has chosen to participate in this year’s Lunch With A Leader. Her generosity will help us in so many ways as we continue to help tomorrow’s leaders stay in school and prepare for life,” said Bud Lavery, Executive Director, Communities In Schools of Durham, Inc.

As Miss America 2006, Ms. Berry was a tremendous advocate for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, serving as the national spokesperson for the organization in 2006. During this time, she traveled approximately 20,000 miles on a public speaking tour, visiting local communities, high schools and other organizations, promoting intolerance to drunk driving and underage drinking.

Hi! I just saw this post and I'm a volunteer for Communities In Schools of Washington State.

If any readers out there are interested in making a REAL tangible difference in your community, we need your support.

Whether you'd like to volunteer one time, or sign up to mentor a child once a week, there are lots of ways you can give a child a better future.

Search online for the Communities In Schools affiliate near you to see how you can help.

Thanks!
