It’s only the beginning of November, but it looked like Santa arrived early this weekend in Atlantic City – and Miss America 2007 Lauren Nelson was leading his sleigh! On Saturday, November 3rd, Lauren rode in the lead corvette for Kerbeck of Atlantic City and the U.S. Marine Corps League’s 4th Annual Toys for Tots Corvette Run.
The event featured a parade of 500 corvettes down the Atlantic City Expressway to meet with the U.S. Marines for a Toys for Tots toy drive in Atlantic City. Generous corvette owners from all over the state of New Jersey loaded their sports cars with tricycles, bikes, stuffed animals, dolls, and more, and joined the parade to make donations to the toy drive and meet with Miss America. Truckloads of toys were collected and will be distributed to needy children by the Marines during the holiday season.
Lauren was on hand to sign autographs, greet the participants and thank them for their generosity. Thanks to Kerbeck, the Marines, generous corvette owners and Miss America, everyone involved felt that warm holiday cheer a little bit earlier this year.
