Tayler Stewart was crowned Miss Black Missouri USA 2008. The pageant was held on Nov 2 & 3 at the Gem Theatre. The Pageant included young ladies varying in ages from 17 to 27. Judges were top professionals in the business, fashion, and sports industry. Stewart received over $3000 in prizes; in addition, the opportunity to compete in the national 2008 Miss Black USA Pageant along with an opportunity to receive an academic scholarship.
A portion of all contestants’ entry fees and ticket sales were donated to the American Diabetes Association, nonprofit organization whose goal is to effectively enhance public awareness through education and media support aimed at preventing and curing diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
