Miss USA pagaeant in Las Vegas

clipped from mrscolorado.blogspot.com I had such an amazing weekend in Las Vegas at the Miss USA pageant! Elizabeth Cartmill, Mrs. Colorado 2003, and I take a quick pic with Crystal Stewart Miss USA 2007. (l.o.l.) My fabulous friends . . . Michael, Elizabeth and Matt. Love you guys!! My BFF, Michael, just before the show. We had 3rd Row seats . . . it was awesome! The Mrs. Colorado queens enjoying some photo ops! Miss Colorado USA 2007, Keena Bonella. I was on the judging panel the year she won!

It surprised me!

clipped from luparker.com My story tonight centered around the FDA’s announcement to stop taking the product Hydroxycut. I went to a gym in Hollywood and interviewed several people about the product, and was surprised when at least three of them told me they will continue to use it. They even said, “We will get it from overseas if need be.” These people weren’t muscle-heads. In fact, one was an average female, the other a male trainer. What are people thinking? The FDA says the product likely causes liver damage, and a 19 year old likely died from using it. I guess it’s the same reason people smoke cigarettes, do drugs, drink alcohol in excess, and expose themselves to other risk factors without thinking of the consequences. Even worse, they think about the consequences, but don’t care. (Myself not excluded here.)

The Basement Boutique

clipped from mrscolorado.blogspot.com I had such a fun day being a special guest at the grand opening of Basement Boutique. All of the high price pieces from the department stores are marked down 80%! When you shop here, you are not only guaranteed a bargain but some great laughs as well. The owners are just so fun! Congratulations on your success ladies!

MRS. NC INTERNATIONAL: Guest speaker at the Cade Foundation Conference

clipped from mncips.blogspot.com Mrs. NC International takes a trip to Owings Mills, MD and was the honored guest speaker addressing how families can overcome infertility and find available resources and alternatives within their communities to aid in the process of starting a family. Mrs. NC shared her story of how she and her husband was able to become parents after 5 years of trying to start a family, and how they profoundly overcame issues dealing with infertility. Their personal success was introducing their now 5 year old daughter to the world in 2003.

Family Home Stead Gala

clipped from mrscolorado.blogspot.com The Family Home Stead is a wonderful and necessary organization here in Colorado that provides short term low cost housing for homeless families with children. They help the parents make progress toward economic stability. The host and I had a great time getting the crowd ready for the evening. I had to bust his chops for his interesting wardrobe for the occasion . . . he said, "They told me SEMI-formal!" I can appreciate a comedian! The beautiful diamond earrings that were a live auction item.

MRS. VIRGINIA AMERICA PAGEANT

clipped from sherrybeach.blogspot.com Today, I attended the Mrs. Virginia America Pageant. It was held in a beautiful venue and everyone in attendence thoroughly enjoyed the pageant. The contestants all looked radiant and presented themselves well. Congratulations to Autumn Daniel, who was crowned Mrs. Virginia America 2009 and good luck at Mrs. America!

Star Report: State pageant paid for Miss California's implants

clipped from www.mercurynews.com It turns out that Miss California Carrie Prejean, already controversial for revealing her anti-gay marriage views during the Miss USA competition recently (she came in second), felt like she needed a little second-story remodeling to present her very best side during the contest. So her friends at the Miss California Pageant helpfully paid for breast implants. Anything for a homie! "We assisted when Carrie came to us and voiced the interest in having the procedure done," Lewis told "Early Show" co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez. Here are some excerpts from the interview: LEWIS: "... it's a personal choice. Well, I think that it's about how a woman feels about herself. In terms of, for me, it's not a personal choice that I would recommend. But at the same time, I know so many women that have done the procedure and feel better about themselves and the way they present themselves.
