AMERICAN QUEEN PAGEANT NEWS Introducing our Newest American Queens! Georgia American Queens for 2008! The Historic Georgia International Horse Park was the setting for the Georgia American Queen Pageant. The park was built for use originally as the "Equestrian Site" for the Summer Olympics which took place in the Atlanta area in the mid-nineties. It was a beautiful setting and a beautiful day. The large and enthusiastic audience welcomed the newest Georgia American Queens. As always, Georgia Executive Director Sunjia Burks did an awesome job. The 2008 Georgia American Queen State Title Holders are: Mrs. Georgia, Toni Hill Miss Teen Georgia, Jessica Huntington Miss Georgia, Angelena Washington Miss Junior Teen Georgia, Kierra Everline Ms. Georgia, Keylani Patel 2008 California American Queens Sunny San Diego was the setting for the exciting 2008 California American Queen Pageant. The candidates dined under the stars at a pre-pageant cocktail party arranged by the wonderful California Executive Director, Valerie Sheppard. Participants were also interviewed on camera for a film documentary in the works focusing on the American Queen Pageant and the Dash Foundation. The new California American Queens were crowned in a lavish and glamorous production. The lucky ladies are: Maria Cavataio, Miss Junior Teen California Natasha Morris, Miss Teen California Louisa Clarque, Miss California Dr. Susan Jewell, Ms. California Lisa Tallerigo, Mrs. California 2008 New England American Queens The smallest state hosted the biggest Regional American Queen Pageant of the year and the newest American Queens were crowned in beautiful "Little Rhody". Our special guests included Valerie Sheppard, Special Host, Kate Stier, Mrs. American Queen, and Jacinta Devlin, Miss American Queen 2007. The Grand Ballroom at the Sheraton was the setting for the exciting and up-beat production. The event was covered by a film and production crew from the MTV Network for inclusion in an upcoming episode of the TV show "Made". Watch for the episode to premiere on MTV at the beginning of July. We were also visited by a film crew from the local NBC Affiliate for the local TV show "Rhode Bytes" starring the hilarious Doreen Collins and Charlie Hall. The episode of the comedy, tongue-in-cheek "Rhode Bytes" will be televised in Southern New England and will also be available on-line at the end of July. QUEENS IN THE NEWS: Our American Queens are ALWAYS in Demand! They're all been busy with appearances and community service - in order to show what they have all been up to, we'd have to dedicate an entire e-zine to all of their activities. In the interest of space, here are just a couple of highlights: Our Mrs. American Queen, Kate Stier, is always ready to lend a hand (or a shovel!). Here she is at "Gimme Shelter Day", an event sponsored by Comcast. Mrs. California, Lisa Tallerigo, received a Proclamation from the Mayor and City Council of San Marcos, California Many of our American Queens participated in Parades and Community Events over the Memorial Day Weekend. Ms. Massachusetts, Maria Alaina Langlois appeared in her home-town Memorial Day Parade: Tune in to "AQP-TV"!There are now 5 episodes of "AQP-TV" up on "YouTube" now, so be sure to view them all!
