An 18-year-old girl beat hundreds of contestants in a Saudi beauty pageant to win a crown, jewelry, cash and a trip to Malaysia—without showing her face.
With her face and body completely covered by the black head-to-toe abaya, Aya Ali al-Mulla rose above 274 rivals with her beaming personality and great ethics to win the “Queen of Beautiful Morals” title, local media reported on Friday.
Bypassing the usual swimsuit and evening gown competitions the winner of the pageant held in the eastern city of Safwa, was chosen based on a series of personal, cultural, social and psychological tests.
She raked in a $ 1,333 prize, a pearl necklace, diamond watch, diamond necklace, and a free ticket to Kuala Lumpur with her win.
