23-year-old Brandon resident Anna Tadlock has been crowned as new Miss Mississippi 2009 in a packed auditorium at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
The competition began Wednesday with 47 contestants and was whittled down to 10 during a live telecast. The first and the second runner up were:
— Danielle Smith (First runner-up), Miss Heartland, recipient of a $7,500 scholarship.
— Rachael Shannon (Second runner-up) , Miss Deep South, recipeint of a $6,000 scholarship.
Previously Anna won two preliminaries over the pageant’s first three nights, taking the swim wear and talent competitions.
