Beauty queen Lynn weighed down by baggage nightmare - Around Town, Entertainment - Herald.ie
Wednesday July 02 2008
It's every beauty queen's worst nightmare -- competing in an international pageant without her artillery of designer gowns, sparkly heels and most importantly, fake tan.
But the Diary can reveal how Dubliner Lynn Kelly (20) has been hit with a bureaucratic nightmare after one of her suitcases containing thousands of euro worth of clothes was impounded by customs officials in Vietnam.
And it seems that no amount of batting her gorgeous eyelashes will convince them to release it in time for the July 13 final of the Miss Universe pageant.
Gorgeous Lynn has now been left scrambling around for replacement outfits as she tries to put her best foot forward without some of her expensive Synan O'Mahony and Tyrrell & Brennan dresses.
Andrea Roche, who organised the first ever Miss Universe Ireland contest, explained how the beauty contestant was the victim of a delivery mix-up.
