The image of pageant contestants as stupid is a myth, particularly when it comes to winners associated with the Miss America Organization. One of many cases in point is the newly crowned Miss Illinois' Outstanding Teen, Andrea Novak.
She has a grade point average of 5.0 and is a consistent presence on the A Honor Roll at her high school in Arlington Heights.
Andrea is also a talented performer who has appeared in such productions as “Intangible Things” and “Do Ya Think.”
When crowned Outstanding Teen, Andrea received $1,300 in savings bonds for future education expenses and an additional $2,500 from Dolphin Entertainment for unspecified travel to Los Angeles to learn more about the entertainment business.
Andrea also travels to Florida in August to compete for Miss America’s Outstanding Teen.
