Nashville Tennessee – The award winning Miss *Mrs U. S. Beauties National Pageant Organization & Publicist Sheri Hooper announced today that Actor Walt Willey from the ABC Daytime Drama All My Children will host the 2008 *Miss *Mrs. U. S. Beauties National Pageant from the beautiful Marriott Lincolnshire Resort Lincolnshire Illinois on Sunday March 16, 2008.
States Sheri "Walt was the perfect choice to host the *Miss *Mrs. U. S. Beauties National Pageant Finals" We are all very excited to have Walt as our host and with his blend of good looks, quick wit and charm we never know what to expect. Walt will also be our Special Guest at the Sunday Night *Miss *Mrs. U. S. Beauties National Winners Dinner Dance which will follow after the national pageant is over.
Walt E. Willey was born in Ottawa, Illinois on January 26th, 1951. There he attended the Southern Illinois University, majoring in the Fine Arts. In 1981, he left Illinois for New York, to pursue a professional acting career. He joined the cast of the popular daytime drama All My Children in 1987, originating the fan-favorite role of Jackson Montgomery. He will celebrate 20 years on the show next year. He has been at every Super Soap Weekend at both Disney's California Adventure and Disney/MGM in Orlando. Walt has been named All My Children's MVP in Soap Opera Update's reader's poll in both 1992 and 1993.
Walt has had jobs hosting many events. He has co-hosted Live with Regis and Kelly! with ex-All My Children star Kelly Ripa. He hosted the 20th Daytime Emmy Awards with Susan Lucci. He has co-hosted the Ford Supermodel of the World awards show in 1992 and 1993, with Beverly Johnson and Rachel Hunter, respectively. Walt was co-host of ABC's Tournaments of Roses Parade in 1994, 1995, and 1997. Walt hosted the Disney event A Magical Time in a Magical Place.
