Desiree Geffers crowned new Miss Oshkosh

Desiree Geffers, 20, of Oshkosh is the new Miss Oshkosh.
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh elementary education major dazzled the crowd at the Miss Oshkosh Scholarship Pageant Saturday night in a black, lacey dress with matching leggings as she danced to the musical selection “She Talks to Angels.”
She is the daughter of Susan and Peter Geffers.
She was fourth runner-up in last year’s pageant. With nine experienced contestants, this year’s was the pageant with the largest returning field of contestants, pageant officials said.
In all, 15 contestants sang, danced and acted their way into the hearts of a nearly full house at the Alberta Kimball Auditorium in a show emceed by the outgoing Miss Oshkosh Janelle Larie and Miss Wisconsin Meghan Coffey.
