My first appearance as Miss Illinois International and my 25th birthday was spent celebrating "Queen for a Day" at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. With the help of Mrs Bartlett International, Jennifer Naida and Ms Galaxy, Laura Buhmann, we gave the children at CMH a reason to smile....because they would be "QUEEN FOR A DAY" or "PRINCE". Tiaras, scepters, pink boas, firefighter hats, and toy trucks were passed out to the kids on the hematology floor. We all had a great time meeting the kids, sharing hugs, and seeing that we helped make their day a bit brighter.
Thank you to CMH staff, the coordinating efforts of Mary FioRito, and Jo-El Lacy, former Miss IL Intl for inviting me. What an awesome birthday it was to spend it at Children's Memorial Hospital!
