It’s been more than a year since biotechnology graduate Simran Kaur Mundi took the reign of Femina Miss India Universe.
Simran, then 22 years old, competed in the Miss Universe pageant in Saigon.
She was first runner-up in the Beach Beauty Competition, second runner-up in the evening gown competition and fourth runner-up In national costume.
In India, three winners are chosen in the Miss India pageant.
One goes on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant, the second in Miss World and the third competes for Miss Earth.
