Carlisle residents lost their enthusiasm for the 2007 Miss America Pageant when Miss Arkansas Amber Bennett was not named one of the 10 semifinalists Monday night in Las Vegas.
Amber may not be America’s Miss America but she will always be Carlisle’s “Miss America.”
A comment Amber was said to have made since becoming Miss Arkansas is “What is the worst thing that could happen [at the Miss America Pageant]? I’ll come home and continue being Miss Arkansas.”
Miss Oklahoma Lauren Nelson was chosen as the 2007 Miss America.
