clipped from news-briefs.ew.com Cable channel TLC has decided not to renew its contract with the struggling Miss America pageant. “We are happy that TLC was part of the modernization and revitalization of the Miss America pageant,” said a rep for the network in a statement. “This year we delivered record ratings, besting any of its prior performances on cable. However, our three year deal has concluded and we have chosen not to renew. We wish the Miss America Organization well.” In recent years, the iconic pageant has had difficulty finding both an audience and a network home: the show left ABC in 2004 and resided at CMT before landing at TLC in 2008. |
