Miss America 2009 Katie Stam visited New Orleans and promoted her message of community service and involvement. She started the day off by speaking to students at local schools on the importance of volunteering and her year as Miss America. Afterwards, she stopped by Camp Restore, the major agency overseeing home recovery efforts in New Orleans and Biloxi and gave inspirational presentations to the students present.
