It's been a busy
week for Miss
America 2009
Katie Stam! A
proclamation,
parade and
cheers greeted
Katie on
Wednesday in her
first return to
Indiana since
she was crowned
in January.
Her whirlwind Hoosier tour began in her
hometown of Seymour, where Mayor Craig Luedeman
declared Wednesday to be Miss America Katie Stam
Day! He
welcomed her with a parade from Seymour High
School to City Hall and
then presented her with a key to the
city.
Thursday, Katie was in Indianapolis, where
she spoke before legislators at the Statehouse
and had lunch with Gov. Mitch Daniels.
She also
participated in a promotion with the Governor
for his "IN Shape Indiana" program at the
National Institute for Fitness and Sport.
Finally, on Monday,
Miss America will embark on a special three day
mall tour with the Simon Mall Group in Indiana.
This will wrap up
Katie’s first
visit to her home state!
