Miss America To Help Hollywood Celebrities Kick the Smoking Habit

Linwood, NJ – November 14, 2008 – Just in the “nic” of time for National Smoke Out Day and to make your New Year's resolutions, Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund and Zerosmoke team up to help some of the biggest and brightest stars in Hollywood kick the smoking habit. With the help of a new smoking cessation product; Zerosmoke, Haglund has reached out to celebrity smokers such as Britney Spears, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston and Matt Damon to offer them the opportunity to help kick the smoking habit and quit for good. Zerosmoke is based on auricular therapy, has zero side effects and does not use a patch, gum or nicotine.

Haglund has made it her personal goal to help people across America quit smoking and live healthier lives. "Our celebrities are role models and as individuals who are looked up to, they need to set positive examples for the younger generation,” said Haglund. “Quitting smoking is one of the most important initiatives that I have had the opportunity to work on this year and I want to help create positive images for celebrities in the media."

As part of her year of service, Haglund travels 20,000 miles per month across the country. By raising awareness of the dangers of smoking, and presenting all of the smoking cessation products available to help people stop smoking, Haglund’s goal is to help save people’s lives. She will be appearing this fall in a national TV documentary, praising the town of Ecru, Mississippi, the first town in America to take the Zerosmoke Smoke Free Challenge.

"On November 20, our country will celebrate National Smoke Out Day and I want to encourage those who smoke to quit, or if you know someone who smokes, encourage them to quit smoking,” said Haglund. “Stay healthy and join us and our list of celebrities to quit the habit that has become an epidemic in our nation."
