That streak ended yesterday with a visit from 2008 Miss America Kirsten Haglund, who came to speak to the contestants in the Miss North Dakota pageant and to talk to area youngsters.
Haglund is a friend of Miss North Dakota Ashley Young, who will be crowning her successor this weekend.
The Michigan native says she plans to return to the state to visit Young once her reign is over.
