I just wanted to take a HOT second and share with you all what’s happening with Caitlin’s Closet and me.
On Monday April 14th I partnered with Children's Hospital in DC and Once Upon a Prom to give out gowns to patients. It was a small but very special event. In life the little things count and this event was a HUGE impact on these teens life and also myself. There were teens still hooked up to IVs trying on gowns! It was an emotional day. Wish you could have been there to see all the smiling faces!
Well my amazing Texas MAOT/MAO Family held the most impressive and HUGE Dress Drive and Dress Give Away for Caitlin's Closet! All the contestants rallied together and decided to give back big to Texas teens in need-by bringing in gowns to there spring meeting! Then school districts and organizations across the great state of Texas came and were able to pick up gowns to take back to teens in their area! IT was AWESOME! The Texas organization collected over 2000 gowns!!!! This is just another example of what truly the MAOT organization is all about...GIVING BACK and working together to make a difference. We some time get lost in our daily lives but it is awesome to unite with other teens and work together. Thank you to the board and staff of Texas MAOT/ MAO and Molly- Miss Texas and Callie - Miss Texas Teen for leading the way. Y'all are the best!
Our last big Dress Give Away of the season was held in Loudon Virginia with the Women's Junior League and Prom Wishes! It was so exciting! Over 10 high schools were invited and over 300 girls came to get a gown, shoes, make-up and accessories! I was able to meet and hang out with some amazing new friends. I was in the fashion show and MC'd with Rebecca Lee editor from SEVENTEEN Magazine!
Rebecca invited me to visit her at Seventeen the next time I go to NYC. Wow! While helping others fulfill their dreams one of my dreams is coming true, visiting Seventeen.
All leftover gowns were shipped to Texas and West Virginia Agencies and schools! All together over 5000 gowns have been collected and given out in 10 States!
Over the past year Caitlin's Closet has grown tremendously. With this growth many additional hours of hard work and lot's of money has been needed to keep up this wonderful dream. Thank you to everyone who has sent gowns, volunteered and made monetary donations to Caitlin's Closet- couldn't have done any of this without your help! Thank you - Thank you
