Rocco Castellano tasked with turning UC freshman into a plus-sized model Cincinnati, OH November 2, 2007 CINCINNATI, Ohio - Internationally celebrated, tell it like it is fitness personality Rocco Castellano has done it all and succeeded at every turn, but he may have met his match when MTV's producers asked him to whip a local college freshman into shape.
The opinionated and sometimes irreverent exercise guru will appear on MTV's MADE on Sunday, Nov. 18 at noon as he tries to help University of Cincinnati student Kristine Kauffman lose 30 pounds in 30 days. It's tomboy Kauffman's quest to be a diva-licious, plus-sized model, but, as the show asks, "Will she be made?"
"It was probably the hardest I've ever pushed anyone and you'll witness the blood, sweat and tears, I guarantee you," said Castellano, who is also in the process of re-releasing his book, marketing his new dietary supplements, arranging a boot camp tour for 2008 and creating a new social networking site for fitness enthusiasts.
Castellano's twice-a-day workouts with the Loveland, Ohio, native took the undisciplined, unconditioned, pizza eating college freshman to many sites around Cincinnati, including Mount Adam's Hill Street overlooking the Ohio River, The Roof Deck at The Emery Center Apartments overlooking downtown Cincinnati and Sawyer Point's Serpentine Wall.
"After realizing I wasn't going to die after the first week, I became compelled to see it through," said Kauffman. "I feel I have learned something for a lifetime, Rocco's passion and determination was so contagious it kept me going even when I felt I couldn't take one more step. He makes you want to be better."
To bring this inspiring message to fellow Cincinnatians, Castellano's askROCCO Media has arranged to have the premiere broadcast on the Jumbotron overlooking Fountain Square on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 12 p.m. A private viewing party for friends, family and media will be held at Nicola Pietoso's Via Vite from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. All askROCCO products will be available for review and sampling during the private party.
Castellano is the founder and "BOSS" of askROCCO Media and askROCCO.com. He will be on tour in 2008 to offer his askROCCO Boot Camps throughout the country. For information, visit www.askrocco.com or call (513) 421-2651.
