Post Comment Alyssa Campanella can smile now when she thinks about the nerve-racking days spent last year rehearsing opening numbers, preparing for interviews and even being teased by some competitors in the Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2007 pageant, held in Parsippany in October.
She did, after all, have the last laugh — winning the coveted title. But the journey is not over for the 17-year-old, second-year pageant contestant from Manalapan, who heads to the Miss Teen USA competition in Pasadena, Calif., Aug. 24.
Most of Campanella's competition expenses will be covered in her $40,000 Miss New Jersey Teen prize package. It includes her gown and round-trip flight and stay in Pasadena. It also includes tuition for a one-week pageant preparation program in New York, three days in Boston spent with a wardrobe coach, and sessions with an interview trainer.
